Can I use Skype or other VOIP programs to call into the bridge line for teleclasses?
Yes, our bridge line can accommodate calls from landlines, mobile phones or VOIP programs. However, because our line is not a toll free line, you will be responsible for the cost of the call to you. With Skype you can either pay as you go or purchase a subscription for unlimited calls. Check out the Skype website for more details at http://www.skype.com/shop/ .
What is the difference between “Level One” and “Level Two” in the Mastering Your Craft telecourses for therapists and coaches?
Level One Groups

-Level One is the entry level course, for those professionals who are working with Rick and the Gremlin-Taming Method for the first time. The prerequisite for participating in this course is to have read Taming Your Gremlin.
-This course will consist of one 8-session pattern, each session lasting one hour. This pattern is the pre-requisite for going to Level Two.
-The course material in Level One is focused on learning and experiencing the fundamentals of Gremlin-Taming. This course is meant to provide grounding in the method and to be taken only once.
-Level One will be scheduled several times throughout the year, so there will be more than one opportunity each year to begin the Mastering Your Craft Course.
-Those who complete a Level One course and who choose to continue will be eligible to join the Level Two group.

Level Two Groups

-Level Two is highly interactive, with participants' personal, professional and case material being the primary grist for the mill. Active participation is essential.
-Level Two occurs in 8-session patterns, each session lasting one hour, with a break of a few weeks between patterns.
-Participants in Level Two register for one pattern at a time. As participants complete a Level Two pattern they are automatically eligible for the next Level Two pattern, and so on.
-Since those who have completed Level One are eligible to join Level Two, we will regularly be adding members to the Level Two Group. (If at any point the number of members distracts from, rather than enhances the experience, we will cap it and start another Level Two group.)

Feel free to contact us at the GTI office is you still are unsure which pattern is most appropriate for you.

Can I earn continuing education units for any Gremlin-Taming programs?
Yes! We have a variety of programs that offer opportunities to earn continuing education credits for therapists and coaches. Other professionals may want to check with your licensing body to determine what can be submitted for your specific group.

We have several programs that you can be applied towards ICF credentialing:

The Art of Graceful Change Self-Study Course - This six hour program includes six CD’s, a study guide, and a post-test. While it’s important to note that the ICF does not issue pre-approval for self-study courses, you may submit a total of six self-study hours with your renewal. The ICF Credential Recertification Requirements states that “the burden of proof regarding applicability to coaching rests solely with the applicant member”.

Taming Your Gremlin for Kids: A Roadmap for Raising a Confident Child - This four week, four hour teleclass is geared toward those interested in learning to use the gremlin-taming method with children. While this is not an ICF approved program, you may submit it for CCEU’s in the areas of ‘Personal Development of the Coach’ and ‘Other Tools Applicable to Coaching’. Again, according to ICF guidelines, “the burden of proof regarding applicability to coaching rests solely with the applicant member”.

What is The Art of Graceful Change CD program about?
"The Art of Graceful Change" was originally recorded by Nightingale-Conant on audio-cassette in 1990. It is a wonderful collection of material by Rick Carson, both from Taming Your Gremlin and his second book, Never Get a Tatoo. This program was recently released on CD and takes the place of the audio-cassettes. If you would like to listen to a couple of excerpts, go to our Heart of the Matter page (Audio and Video Clips) and click on "You and Your Life and Your Gremlin" and/or "Your Gremlin". You can order the CD program alone or with a Self-Study Course in which you can earn six continuing education credits.
Are your workshops only for professionals?
No, our workshops are open to anyone who has an interest in learning the Gremlin Taming Method. Our workshops are often attended by couples, parents, educators, therapists, coaches and business owners. However there is no pre-requisite for wanting to be the best you can be. Folks in the helping professions are often drawn to these workshops because they have experienced how powerful the method is in their own lives and they want to share it with others. For more information, check out our schedule of upcoming workshops.
Can I use the word “gremlin” or “gremlin-taming” in my marketing material as a coach or therapist?
Many of our readers, clients, and participants in our seminars have embraced Rick Carson’s theory of “Gremlin Taming” and used it in their own work. We welcome readers and those we have trained to pass on the good word and recommend our books and trainings to others. We want the method to keep working. Please help us preserve its’ integrity by being aware of the following information:

Rick Carson coined the terms "Taming Your Gremlin" and "Gremlin-Taming" in 1983 to describe a specific method of personal enhancement. He owns federally registered trademark rights in the Taming Your Gremlin mark and all of his materials are copyrighted. Ethical and legal use of Gremlin, Taming Your Gremlin, Gremlin Taming, or any of their variants to refer to his work or any adaptations of his work requires that the following information appear early and prominently:

“Gremlin-Taming™ is a specific method developed by Rick Carson and described in his seminal work, Taming Your Gremlin® © 1983 Richard D. Carson. For more information on Gremlin-Taming, and professional trainings in the Gremlin-Taming Method, contact The Gremlin Taming Institute (www.tamingyourgremlin.com or 1-800-253-9269).”

Express written permission must be obtained in order to package, market, distribute, and/or charge a fee for any service or products promoted using Gremlin, Taming Your Gremlin, Gremlin-Taming, or any of their variants.

Here are two questions to ask yourself in order to determine if the above requirements apply to you:

1. Am I using the words "Taming Your Gremlin", "Gremlin-Taming" or "Gremlin" to promote my presentations or products or in any of my presentation materials?
2. Am I using any of Rick Carson's or the Gremlin Taming Institute's copyrighted materials?

If the answer to either of these questions is yes, you are expected to cooperate with the above guidelines.
