Postgraduate Training

To introduce others to Gremlin-Taming is to give them a life-long gift. To effectively guide them to make maximum use of this gift requires specific training and knowledge.

The Gremlin-Taming Institute offers continuing education programs specifically for human service professionals such as psychotherapists, personal and executive coaches, counselors, physicians, teachers, substance abuse specialists and corrections personnel.

The Gremlin-Taming Institute also welcomes to these programs any professional who is in a position of management, leadership or mentoring of any sort.

Because of the comfortable context within which our training programs are conducted, trainees are able to experience honest self-reflection, open questioning and safe experimentation toward the goal of developing a natural and effective style of helping others. Participants develop a style reflective of both a sound knowledge base and a bone-deep confidence in what they do and how they do it.

Taming Your Gremlin: The Workshop

If you've read Taming Your Gremlin and you want to learn more, this is a great place to begin. This workshop, through its experiential nature and small group size, will give you an opportunity to learn and begin to integrate the foundational principles underlying the Gremlin-Taming Method. You will learn Three Dynamic Systems and Sixteen Key Principles to help you hone and channel your natural gifts.

This workshop is available in half-day, full day and day-and-a-half formats and is a prerequisite for the Art of Graceful Change Workshop.

The Art of Guiding Graceful Change Workshop

This workshop affords participants an opportunity to deeply integrate the central tenets and tools of the Gremlin-Taming Method into their personal growth and into their guidance of others. Participants learn a streamlined specific three-step roadmap for inner trekking, the seven keys to creating a context in which perpetual personal growth can occur swiftly and how to create and restore equilibrium even in the midst of outrageous upheaval. This workshop is available in half-day, full day and one-and-a-half-day formats.

Mastering Your Craft Telecourses

All Mastering Your Craft telecourses consist of eight one-hour sessions and all are conducted by Rick Carson or Jane Massengill via our bridge line. These sessions are highly interactive with ample opportunity for personal work and for exploring relationships such as those with clients, direct-reports, students, et al. To be specific, you will:

• Develop a keen eye and a clear sense of where to look and what to look for when selecting points of intervention
   
• Acquire a clear, practical understanding of the Gremlin-Taming Method and how to use it
   
• Learn how to effectively address gremlin chatter and self-limiting concepts
   
• Gain finesse and confidence
   
• Revitalize your creativity and increase the pleasure you derive from your work

These courses have been approved for eight core curriculum CCE's for coaches through the International Coach Federation. CEU's are available for MFT’s and LCSW’s in California.

The Mastering Your Craft Telecourses are offered in two versions: as Level 1 and Level 2, each with its unique prerequisites and offering unique depth of experience in the Gremlin-Taming Method.

Mastering Your Craft Telecourse - Level 1 Conducted by Jane Massengill

• Level 1 is the entry level course, for those professionals who are working with the Gremlin-Taming Method for the first time. The prerequisites for participation in this course are to have read Taming Your Gremlin and to have acquired a copy of A Master Class In Gremlin-Taming.
   
• This course consists of eight one-hour sessions.
   
• This course is the prerequisite for Level 2.
   
• The course material in Level 1 is focused on learning and experiencing the fundamentals of Gremlin-Taming. This course is meant to provide grounding in the method and to be taken only once.
   
• Level 1 is scheduled several times throughout the year so there will be more than one opportunity each year to begin the Mastering Your Craft Course.
   
• Those who complete the Level 1 course and who choose to continue are eligible to join a Level 2 group.

Mastering Your Craft Telecourse - Level 2 Conducted by Jane Massengill
Completion of Level 1 is a prerequisite for participating in Level 2.
 

• Level 2 is highly interactive, with participants' personal, professional and case material being the primary grist for the mill. Active participation is essential.
   
• Level 2 occurs in successive eight-session series, each session lasting one hour, with a break of a few weeks between series.
   
• Participants in Level 2 register for one eight-session series at a time. As participants complete an eight-session Level 2 series, they are eligible for the next Level 2 series, and so on.
   
• Since those who have completed Level 1 are eligible to join Level 2, we regularly add members to the Level 2 group. If, at any point, the number of members distracts from, rather than enhances, the experience, we cap it and start another Level 2 group.

Private Lessons

Private Lessons present an opportunity to greatly enhance your effectiveness using the Gremlin-Taming Method in your own life and with your clients. Both Rick Carson and Jane Massengill are available for Private Lessons which may be conducted face-to-face or by phone and may include from one to three participants.

Each one-to-one session is typically scheduled for 45-minutes and each session with two or three participants, for an hour. In these confidential consultations you may focus on personal, interpersonal and client-related issues.
